Elliott: 9 months

Elliott:

You have learned so many new things this month.  I feel like you are really taking off!  It's been a rough month for you health wise, but you have kept a happy face no matter how sick you've felt. Here's a look at what you've been up to this month:

-You haven't gained any weight this month, because you have been playing catch up after loosing 11 ounces in 24 hours when you were sick. You weigh 17 pounds 3 ounces and measure 27.5 inches long (15th-25th percentile for height and weight).

-You still haven't shaken that nasty cough.  We went in to get it checked out again, and you had a double ear infection and bronculitis, which was causing you to wheeze when you breathed.  We had a breathing treatment done in the doctor's office and you started a stronger antibiotic and an inhaler.  Unfortunately, your stomach couldn't handle the antibiotics (hence the weight loss) and we had to go in 3 days in a row for antibiotic shots.  Just when we thought you were on the mend, you got a fever of 103.6 (the highest you've ever had), prompting another visit to the doctor's office, where a chest x-ray revealed the beginning stages of pneumonia!  So, you were put on yet another round of antibiotics and the inhaler again. I hope this is not a sign that we're going to have a rough winter...

-You're napping twice a day (when you are at home) for about 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.  Daycare is a different story though... you don't want to miss anything, so you only nap for about 30 minutes twice a day when you are there.  You sleep from about 7:30pm to 7am most nights.

-You are wearing 6-9 month clothes, and size 3 diapers.

-You're still loving solids.  This month you added carrots, blueberries, yogurt, and rice noodles to your pallet.  We've tried some finger foods, but you mostly just want to play with it. You now eat solids 3 times a day and nurse 4 times a day.

-No new teeth this month, but I can see 4 top teeth bulging under the gums that I imagine will pop though any day now.

-You moved on from army crawling to full out crawling this month and also started pulling up to your feet. Now that this has happened, you are in to everything! We can't take our eyes off of you for a second.

-You have entered the separation anxiety stage, and you cry any time we leave the room.

-You are jabbering more and more.  You still don't say any real words, but you say Da Da all the time.

-You started clapping your hands this month, it is so cute!

It's hard to believe we only have 3 more months before it will be time to celebrate your first birthday.  You are growing so fast.  We cherish every day the Lord gives us with you.

Love you sweet boy!
Momma
