Elliott:
I'm daily amazed by how quickly you are picking up on things. You are getting more mobile every day, attempting to communicate with us, and learning to feed yourself. I'm one proud Momma, showing off your photos to anyone who will look. Here's what you've been up to this month:
-You weigh about 18 pounds and measure between 26 and 27 inches.
-You had another ear infection and a nasty cough this month. Although the ear infection wasn't too bad, Dr. Davis went ahead and put you on a round of antibiotics to be safe.
-Your reflux is much better and you've gone off Zantac, yay!
-You're napping twice a day (when you are at home) for about 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. Daycare is a different story though... you don't want to miss anything, so you only nap for about 30 minutes twice a day when you are there. You still sleep from about 7:30pm to 6am most nights.
-You are wearing 6-9 month clothes, and size 3 diapers.
-You're an excellent eater! You eat 3 tablespoons of either rice cereal or oatmeal mixed with 2 ounces of formula or breast milk (when I have extra) twice a day. You eat 4 tablespoons of fruit in the morning and 4 tablespoons of a veggie in the evening. You've tried bananas, apples, pears, avocados, sweet potatoes, peas, prunes, squash, zucchini, potatoes, peaches and plums. You have eaten everything we've offered you. Your favorites are still apples and sweet potatoes. You are still nursing 5 times a day.
-No new teeth this month.
-You started lifting yourself into a seated position this month, and are army crawling all over the place. You've also started pulling up to your knees, and we had to drop your crib one level.
-We started giving you "Puffs" for a snack this month. You love them, because you can grab one and put it in your mouth all by yourself.
-You've started reaching for me and climbing into my lap. I LOVE this!!
-You are jabbering more and more. You have added the "da, ba, and ma" sounds to your vocabulary, but you don't associate mama or dada with us yet.
-You love animals! When Maggie gets in your line of vision, you get so excited and take off after her. If I hold you and sit next to her where you can touch her, you grin from ear to ear. You also love when Lola gives you puppy dog kisses on your toes.
Your smile and laugh are my favorite things! You are such a happy boy, making caring for you easy. I pray that you will always have the joyful personality you do now. The past 8 months have been the best of our lives.
We love you,
Momma
