Elliott:
You made it to the double digits! How did this happen so fast? I'm amazed every day by how much you have changed and grown in such a short period of time. You continue to keep us busy. We can't take our eyes off of you for a minute, or you're certain to be getting in to trouble. Here's what you've been up to this month:
-I'm not sure about your height and weight, but I would guess you are around 28 inches long and weigh between 19 and 20 pounds.
-Your cough finally got better this month after Dr. Davis started you on a daily does of Singulair for allergies, but the weather turned cold and the cough and runny nose have crept back up on us.
-Your ears remained infected this month after multiple rounds of antibiotics, so Dr. Davis has referred us to an ENT for tubes. We met Dr. Cash last week and he thinks you are a candidate for tubes, but we won't be able to take you for the surgery until it's been 6 weeks since your pneumonia diagnosis and Dr. Davis does another exam and chest x-ray to prove you are clear to be under anesthesia. Your exam and x-ray are scheduled for the 14th and your surgery is tentatively scheduled for the 16th, assuming a good report from Dr. Davis. Meanwhile, Dr. Cash put you on a new antibiotic for your ear infection, which 3 days in caused vomiting after every dose. You've had this problem with several antibiotics, making it hard to give your poor ears any relief. You've been off the antibiotic since Friday afternoon, but you are still throwing up all solids. We will start a new antibiotic tomorrow. I'm praying your stomach can handle the new meds so your ears can begin to heal. I'm also praying for a good report on the 14th, because we need to be able to take you on the 16th. Hopefully next month I'll be able to report a much healthier baby.

-You're napping twice a day (when you are at home) for about 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. Daycare is a different story though... you don't want to miss anything, so you only nap for about 30 minutes twice a day when you are there.
-You sleep from about 7:30pm to 7am most nights.

-You are wearing some 6-9 month clothes and some 9-12 month clothes, and size 3 diapers.
-You are starting to wear shoes more, much to your dismay. You wear a size 3.

-You're still loving solids. This month we added some chunkier purees with meat in them. We've tried some finger foods, but you mostly just want to play with it. You now eat solids 3 times a day.
-My milk supply began to taper this month after having to be on an antibiotic and steroids when we all got sick a few weeks back. I have struggled all month to produce more milk. I had to start supplementing some formula on daycare days, because I wasn't even able to pump enough for one bottle each day. Just this past week, I decided pumping at work was no longer worth the time and the stress for only 4oz. a day, and I switched to just nursing you morning and night. Now you nurse morning and night and take two 6 oz. bottles of formula during the day.
-You are getting the hang of the sippy cup and you drink 4oz. of juice each day.

-You got 3 new teeth this month (the top 2 middle and the one next to the middle on your left side)! You now have a total of 5 teeth and one on the way on the right side of the top middle.
-You have started cruising along furniture to get to things and even switching from one piece of furniture to another if they are in close proximity.
-You are jabbering more and more. You finally started saying Ma Ma this month! You call me all the time and I love it!
-You learned to wave this month. You never do it when we ask you to, only when we least expect it.
-Your favorite toys are the remote control, our iPhones, and our keys. You can be in a room full of toys and all you want are one or all of those three things.
You have changed our lives in so many ways over the past 10 months. In some ways it feels like the past 10 months have flown by, but in others it feels like you have always been here. One thing is certain though, we can't picture what life was like without you, you make our family complete.
I love you,
Momma
