Getting away to Arkadelphia.

Gary's grandparents on the Grant side have planned a vacation for the entire family every summer since he was young.  They call it the "Grant Getaway."  As everyone has gotten older, they have planned the getaways a little closer to home.  This year we all gathered in Arkadelphia, where his grandparents live.  This was Elliott's first Grant Getaway, and the first time for several family members to meet our little guy.  I think he was a hit, especially with Gary's cousins, Zachary (7) and Isaac (5).

This getaway was extra special because we also celebrated Gary's grandparents 65th wedding anniversary.  The family surprised them with a dinner and gift presentation.  They are such an inspiration to us all.

Another successful Grant Getaway for the books.  Looking forward to next year!

Mr. and Mrs. Scheer.

This past weekend Gary and I were in Arkadelphia for my sister-in-law, (Gary's younger sister) Gina's wedding.  The wedding was beautiful, as was the bride.  I was honored to serve as Gina's "Matron of Honor" for the day.  I enjoyed spending her last single night with her at the Hampton Inn in Arkadelphia Saturday night and helping her get ready before the ceremony Sunday morning.

After the wedding Zach and Gina spent their first night in Little Rock at the Capital Hotel,  before flying to Chicago for the week Monday afternoon.

Gary and I are excited for Zach and Gina.  You can tell they are truly best friends, and that is so important in a marriage.  We are looking forward to seeing where their journey together will take them over the years.
