Elliott:
To say I am smitten with you would be an understatement. You get cuter every month! Your personality is really beginning to come out more every day. You are such a happy boy, and you fill our hearts with so much joy. Here is what you've been up to this month:
- You weighed 15 pounds 9 ounces and measured just under 26 inches about 3 weeks ago, so I would say you weigh around 16 and a half pounds now and measure right at 26 inches.
-You haven't had any more ear infections this month, but you are still taking Zantac twice a day for reflux.
- You're napping much better. We decided to try to schedule your wake time in the mornings to see if this would help, and it seemed to do the trick. Since I only work 3 days a week, your schedule changes on the days we're home (i.e. sleeping in past 6:30). Now we try to get you up between 6 and 6:30 every day. This way you're ready for a nap by 9, and you will sleep an hour and a half to two and a half hours. In the afternoon, you go down for a nap around 2, but this nap is a little shorter, maybe an hour, we're still working on it. Daycare is a different story though. You don't want to miss anything, so you only nap for about 30 minutes to an hour twice a day when you are there.
-You are wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes, but you have started transitioning into some 6-9 month things. You are still in size 2 diapers.
-You're an excellent eater! You eat two tablespoons of either rice cereal or oatmeal mixed with an ounce of formula or breast milk (when I have extra) twice a day. You eat 2 tablespoons of fruit in the morning and 2 tablespoons of a veggie in the evening. You've tried bananas, apples, pears, avocados, sweet potatoes, peas, prunes, and squash. You have eaten everything we've offered you. Your favorites are still apples and sweet potatoes. You are still nursing 5 times a day.
-You still go to daycare only 3 days a week. You take three 5oz. bottles of expressed breast milk when you go. I am changing my hours at work so I can have more time with you in the evenings. Instead of working W,TH,F from 10-7, I will work Wednesday and Friday 8 to 5 and Thursdays will still be 10-7.
-You are reaching and grabbing for everything. You have recently discovered texture and love to open and close your hands across new textures.
-Your second (bottom) tooth broke through the gums this month. I love seeing your little teeth when you laugh and smile!
-You started sitting unassisted this month, making it so much easier to go out to eat or grocery shopping. You are also pulling up on to all fours and rocking back and forth. You can get around pretty good army crawling. I think you will be crawling any day now!
-We set up your highchair this month. You love sitting at the table with us while we eat. You can hold your own bottle, and you've started drinking juice from a sippy cup (but, it's still a learning process). I've given you some water out of a water bottle and a straw, and now anytime you see a bottle of water or a straw you think you need a drink.
- You are jabbering more and more. You have added the "GA" sound to your vocabulary, as well as this adorable little growl. You repeat "Hi" now when we say it to you. Your laugh gets cuter every month. You are super ticklish, especially on the backs of your legs.
-You went on your first vacation this month to Seagrove, FL. You traveled like a champ, and loved the ocean and the sand.
It's amazing to look back and see all you have learned over the past 7 months. Every month brings something new and fun. We rarely watch TV or movies anymore, you provide us so much entertainment! I'm looking forward to seeing what this month holds.
We love you!
-Momma
