Book Report: "I Am Number Four"
You remember book reports, right? You know, when you were in school and you had to read a book and then turn in a report on the book? Well, this is another segment I'm gonna start on my blog in effort to bring some more diversity to Love is in the Hair. I set a goal of reading 20 books this year, so I thought, when I finish a book, I'd write a short report on my blog for those of you looking for books worth reading.
The first book report will be on "I Am Number Four" by Pittacus Lore. Gary found out about this book before I had even heard of it and bought it for me for Christmas. Here's a summary from the book's website:
"In the beginning they were a group of nine. Nine aliens who left their home planet of Lorien when it fell under attack by the evil Mogadorians. Nine aliens who scattered on Earth. Nine aliens who look like ordinary teenagers living ordinary lives, but who have extraordinary, paranormal skills. Nine aliens who might be sitting next to you now.
The Nine had to separate and go into hiding. The Mogadorians caught Number One in Malaysia, Number Two in England, and Number Three in Kenya. All of them were killed. John Smith, of Paradise, Ohio, is Number Four. He knows that he is next.
I AM NUMBER FOUR is the thrilling launch of a series about an exceptional group of teens as they struggle to outrun their past, discover their future—and live a normal life on Earth.
I AM NUMBER FOUR.
I AM NEXT."
I loved this book! Yes, I know it's for teens, but it's a fun story, and a nice change from vampires, werewolves, and wizards (not that I don't love those too). The book is full of action, but also has an underlying love story. I cried at the end, and I can't wait for the next book "The Power of Six" to come out. If you like Si-Fi, you should give this book a read.
Also, this book has been made into a movie, that comes out on Feb. 18th (the day before my birthday). I'm looking forward to seeing it, but you should read the book first, as the book is always better than the movie.
1 down, 19 to go.
P.S. My dad started a blog! You should check it out.
